Thanks, Jinnayah, for your very kind words. Thanks also for ordering EG from your library. I was glad the book spoke to you.

Thanks too to your husband on guide dog duty! ;-)

This time my local library did not take me up on the suggestion to buy _Emotional Geology_, but they did ILL it for me from out-of-state. I read it in a single day, finishing the last pages while walking home (with my husband scouting out the sidewalk for me just ahead).

Thank you for the lovely book, Linda, and thank you equally for the wonderful account you wrote here. You will give (and surely have already given) courage to budding artists unsure how to channel the creativity pouring out of them.

Thank you, Auburn.

It's difficult not to feel overwhelmed by this sort of illness, either as a sufferer or a carer. What I discovered was that it's possible to rebuild your life page by page, day by day. Writing is a wonder drug that can transform us.

Thank you for sharing your story, Linda. You give hope to those who might otherwise be overwhelmed. Your work is magical and honest and I can't get enough. You capture the imagination and then hold it up like a precious gift; a rare quality indeed!

Thank you, Anne for featuring this lovely writer.

Linda alerted me to her guest blog. I have known her for 20 years or more and am privileged to call her my friend. She is an exquisite novelist and even if she weren't my friend, I would still recommend her books to everyone who reads this guest blog.

As a fan of Linda's work, I found that piece fascinating, and would venture an observation: those readers who have been kept up so late into the night have been so detained not only because of the unputdownable nature of her tales, but also due to the beauty and lyricism of her writing. For me, it is the latter that does it. It's read-aloud stuff. If you read this, Linda, thank you for the beautiful books; and if anyone else reads this and hasn't read her yet then may I humbly suggest that you do.

What a joy to read your blog. Writing saved me after my husband died. While losing him, a family member was struck with mental illness. It has opened my heart and my eyes to an overlooked world that can't be wished away. It is what it is. It is biological, but there is hope for recovery. In the meantime, I'm writing away and getting essays published. The novels are next as I pass 55.
